TATA Trucks
India's largest manufacturer of motor vehicles is TATA Motors Limited. With 2008-09 revenues of $14 billion, it is India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and the fourth largest truck manufacturer in the world. It is also the world’s second largest bus manufacturer.
Established in 1945, TATA is no flash in the pan, but is a robust, forward-thinking business. It currently employs 23,000 individuals and has a joint-venture agreement with Fiat and other companies. Current manufacturing sites are spread throughout India as well as other countries through acquisitions and joint-ventures. TATA Motors has taken over South Korea's Daewoo Commercial Vehicles and lorry company and now exports two thirds of Korea's heavy commercial vehicles. TATA is also listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Rigid-body TATA lorries are available in a variety of models ranging from the 90 horse power LPT 1109, which has a GVW of 11900 kg, to the 176 horse power LPT 2518 with a GVW of 25000kg.
